CD SMEs intends to create a replicable model for development and creation of SME. The project involves 6 communities in Giza Governorate, establishing a network of 4 Business Support and Information Centers that will be providing services to start and expand local business activities. |

CD SMEs Objective
Improving the performance of SMEs in Giza Governorate, strengthening CDAs to deliver business management, training, counseling and information that can enable small and micro entrepreneurs to start and improve their businesses, thereby creating sustainable jobs. |

CD SMEs Approach
* Preparing local business providers- CDAs- in hosting a BDC by
strengthening their institutional capacity
* Assisting the newborn BDCs in training their staff and tutoring
the start-up of their activities
*Providing further support for the consolidation and the
growth of the centers, by assisting them in providing
services to existing and potential local entrepreneurs |
CD SMEs Sustainability
* Increasing as much as possible the share of cost-recovery paid by entrepreneurs.
* Strengthening the synergies between the non-financial services provided by BDCs and the credit lines provided by the CDAs and SECDA
* Encouraging CDAs in fund-raising and in improving their capability in attracting assistance from other donors |
